Search Engine Optimization is a technique that structures the content of a webpage in a way that increases its relevance to search engines, allowing the website to have a higher page rank. A higher website ranking leads to more generated traffic.


Keywords are the words or phrases people search on when using search engines. If your content has the right keywords, there’s a better chance for your website to appear on the SERPs when somebody searches on those keywords. The use of too many keywords will make your content illogical or unreasonable however. Known as keyword stuffing, this practice can actually lead to your site being banned by the search engines, so avoid it completely.

Organic Traffic

Organic traffic is traffic you get to your website exclusively from through a search engine. Truth is, organic traffic is the best kind of traffic you can get on your website because it is targeted, meaning a person was actually looking for you or something that you can offer.

Click-Through Rate (CTR)

A click-through rate reflects the percentage of the audience that clicked a particular link on a webpage, email or web advertisement. A higher CTR indicates your website did receive more traffic.

Cost-per-Click (CPC)

Cost-per-Click is a pricing model in which a company places ads on a certain publisher’s website or blog, and pays that publisher for every click made on those ads, which are typically linked to the advertiser’s website.


Finally, keep in mind that simply making people click on a link to your website is not enough. You have to capture their interest! They should be pleased with your content, come back for more, and eventually be convinced to buy your product or service. Better yet, have them at first visit! When a visitor responds in a desired way – for example, buy a product, sign up for membership, download a form – that is conversion.
